Are You Due For A Registry Clean Up?
How do you know when you need a Registry Clean up? The answer to this is pretty simple. If you’re computer is brand new, you won’t need a registry clean up. If you’ve had your computer for a while and it’s been running slow lately, then you may want to consider cleaning up your sytem registry. If you are recieving a fair amount of error messages from Windows or your computer is running painfully slow, then you definitely need to clean up that registry.
In case you are unsure of what a computer registry is, I will briefly explain. Your registry is a system file used by Windows to run software on your computer. This system file can cause your computer to run slowly if it has been filled with junk entries. This can clog your computer’s thinking process and result in a major headache when your computer is operating at turtle speed.
Several things can contribute to a clogged registry, one of these occurrs over time as you install and uninstall programs. When you install a program, your computer will make an entry in your registry. This is fine because it is necessary to run the program, but if you no longer use the program, or if you uninstall it completely, the entry becomes a junk entry that will clog your computer.
Another thing that can clog up your registry are viruses, they can leave entries in your registry that need to be removed even if your anti-virus program has removed the virus itself. If your computer registry becomes clogged by either of these things, you will require a registry clean up.
Luckily for you, it is relatively easy to acquire a program that can fix this problem. There are several good programs out there that can do this for you. You must be careful though, because your registry is an extremely important system file. If a free, poorly written program botches the file, your computer will not be in good shape.
Nearly all the horror stories out there about registry cleaning come from the use of these poorly written cleaners. If you are looking to do a registry clean up make sure you choose one that will do a decent job on your computer.
